Our school is dedicated to promoting the art of perfumery, with a focus on creativity and artistic creation. We’re also interested in exploring the relationship between scent and the world around us, literature, history, music, art, nature and science.

All our courses are taught in English and in Spanish.

Our founder and lead tutor Marina Barcenilla has been teaching perfumery for over fifteen years.

In the world of perfumery, she’s an independent perfumer, a pioneer in the world of natural fragrance, and one of the Academicians at the Spanish Academia del Perfume. Her perfumes have received many awards, including two Fragrance Foundation Awards, two Sustainable Luxury Awards, and several Natural Beauty accolades including Beauty Shortlist, The Green Parent and International Natural Beauty awards.

As well as creating fragrances for other brands, Marina designs scents for immersive events, museum exhibitions and educational activities, art installations and literature, and has worked with large international organisations like the Asia Society, the Ingka Group and the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres.

In the world of science, she's a Space Scientist and Science Communicator. Since 2017, she has been making science accessible to all types of audiences through her science outreach project ‘AromAtom: Discover the Smell of Space’, and she has been invited to share her knowledge at some of the most prestigious science institutions, including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Royal Society in London. Marina’s scientific work continues, and she’s currently researching the role of the sense of smell in long-duration crewed space missions as a collaborator with INESC TEC.
